Right, quick update. Finally got the ride height about right, its insured again and booked into the garage to let them fix it. Also, I no longer believe its as fooked as I first thought. I thought I had broke the rear diff, so spent months searching for a second hand one, now I think its just a CV joint thats gone so really easy to fix, still booked it in cos I cant be arsed. Also I thought my clutch was knackered and kept slipping, but I took it to the petrol station yesterday and now have more road noise from the rear due to no carpets, seats or trim and when it slips you can hear the back end still trying to drive so I'm pretty sure its all CV related. Could still be diff but will find out soon. I'll get some pics up of the damage aswell as I'm sure whatever it is I've completly destroyed it now. Car struggles to move and just get a strange whining noise from the back end that rises with the revs.

dude deffo sounds like the diff, when you put your foot down does it get all jerky? like its trying to throw power to the wheels but cant make its mind up?

a cv would be nice but prepair yourself for the worest and if its not that bad think yaself lucky

I'll have a look under the car later, its completly gone now so if it is the CV joint the boot will probably be ripped to shreds where its been spinning one side and not the other. Plus you can put the car in gear and hear the noise when the handbrake is on and not moving anywhere if you try and drive it so i'll look under while a mate loads it up and see if the prop is spinning and see what the CV's are doing if anything. Reason I was thinking CV is because it clunked when going round corners to start with. Now its smashed to bits whatever it is. Got a spare diff, halfshafts, propshaft and CV joints so should be ok whatever is wrong, unless the splines have gone in the hub. And I'm 90% sure the clutch isn't slipping now which is good. So the only problems I have with that is it not disengaging fully, but have spare master and slave cylinders and also found an installation manual for my clutch which shows a mod to the slave cylinder to solve exactly this type of problem (although not for my model Impreza, but hope its the same).

Cheers for that Ant, have the workshop manuals, but theres loads of stuff there that I didnt have, like the part numbers and exploded diagrams bit. And dial templates....hmmm.....I feel some custom ones coming on
