Everything I've ordered has now arrived so need to get cracking in the next few weeks to get it all sorted.

Right, I've stopped using my phone camera for everything now so have started to get some better quality pics. Need to go through my computer and find all my old pics as Putfile hasn't worked in ages, need to re host all the old photo's on here. Car goes into the garage today to have new clutch and flywheel fitted and some other bits and bobs that need doing. Heres the new clutch:

Rang the garage to check on the progress of this and had some good news. My twin plate clutch isn't knackered after all. The garage that fitted it has got it too tight so the plates can't move around properly when the clutch is disengaged, this was why I had problems selecting gear properly as the plates were dragging. Also the intermidiate plate is somehow stuck to the flywheel, not too sure what the garage mean by this though as the intermidiate plate should be sat inbetween the two carbon plates, but will have a look soon and see. New clutch and flywheel are going on anyway as I'm only running 315 pounds of torque and the new clutch is rated to 400 ft/lbs of torque so I'll save my old clutch for when I get my new engine as its rated for over 600 ft/lbs. Started to upload all my pics to another file sharing site so pics will slowly re-appear.

Probably not this year unfortunatly, I'll get a quote from the bodyshop as soon as I get it back to see how much its gonna cost to fit everything I have and do a full respray. I've never had a car go into a bodyshop for this amount of work before so have no idea of the turn around time and my BMW is on its last legs I think. So might have to fix the 5 fully before the Impreza goes in as need a car.

Its back fully on the road, suspension has been set up and it handles so much better than its ever done. Time to get quotes for the bodywork.

RE: *Member* Shane's Impreza Turbo 2000AWD Sorting pics out
And I've killed the gearbox.......again. Not fully sure whats happened yet, wasn't even giving it much stick. Just accelerating in first gear when a large bang and loss of drive completely in all gears. Had to get a tow back home, much to the amusment of everyone that seen me. I don't think it has anything to do with the new clutch, and I doubt it has anything to do with the PPG gears as it doesnt do anything in any gear and I really shouldn't be able to break a PPG gearset, so I'm thinking maybe output shaft of gearbox or possible front and center diff. Think I'm gonna swap to full STi running gear and put the PPG kit inside an STi box. Really starting to get pissed off with cars.
Edit: Looking at this pic it can't be the output shaft and is more likely the input side of the main shaft, I didn't know how the front and rear diffs were arranged, but looking at this they are at opposite sides of the driven shaft so if part of the driven shaft at either end, or the shaft after the transfer driven gear was broke, there should still be drive from some gears from either the front or back wheels. Same if it was diff related, if it was the front diff that had smashed itself to peices then the car should be just rear wheel drive or if the center coupling had burnt out then the car would be front wheel drive.

RE: *Member* Shane's Impreza Turbo 2000AWD Sorting pics out
As in car thread, its in Area52 at the mo, and the gearbox has definatly died. Spoke to someone at Area 52 and he said my best option is for a second hand doner box so will be looking at £700 for a second hand STi one. I tried to explain I couldn't use an STi box as mine was a UK one and the diff ratios are different, the guy on the phone didn't seem to get what I was on about as he said something along the lines of "oh, yours is just a WRX then?" err no its a UK turbo 2000AWD. Really I need to go down there and make sure they either find a replacement UK box or find a matching rear diff if an STi box is a better option.
