Before I show what I've been upto this morning...I've Had a play to make sure my brake set up is gonna work more on the actual brakes later
But my HEL/Apex performance braided lines are replacing the shitty copper and rubbe hoses so here is a pic of the old and new stuff I'm looking forward to being able to actually stop!

RE: *MAXXD* Ollie's Nissan 200SX S14a
Right....
spotted this a while back, not many have tried it but i think it will suit my car down to the ground and if it didnt look mean and badass before...it does now! Now, this week it appears Alanman isnt the only one to get rid of some Chrome.....although the front of the S14a is my fave part and looks aggressive as standard with its almost bad boy lights and big front mount i decided it needs to look Harder! so here it is this morning, first thing... ![]() I then set about removing the sidelights (that if you remember i USDM'd with a can of orange laquer ![]() I then went inside, turned the oven on and put the headlight in it.....(Gas Mark 1, about 20mins for those interested Now let me explain, this is a brave thing to do, a set of second hand S14A headlights can fetch as much as £200 for the pair so chucking them in the oven is a brave move, but you need about 100-120 degrees to melt the sealant to split the glass from the body ![]() once out the oven place on a cooling tray....or get a screwdiver and gently tease the glass away from the body ![]() As you can see the lens on the right is a projector lense so no need for reflective backgrounds, however the main reflector for full beam needed to stay 4 screws remove the main shields arounf the lights, quick key with 800 wet and dry, degrease, dust of primer and then 3 coats of Matt black ![]() once dryish, they can be screwed back to the unit and made ready for glass refitting ![]() finally they go nback in the oven Gas mark 2 for 15 mins A) to cure the paint and B) to allow the sealant to soften so you can push the glass back into place and then allow to cool. I added a bead of silicone round the edge after just to help seal it. refit to car Stand back and admire Badass-ness.

Delivery man arrived this morning!
And he brought me...... ![]() My mega new brakes! The old ones have been binned off and replaced by these 50mm bigger (330mm) bell and rotor combo! Along with the kit I got the CNC machined brackets to allow the standard caliper to be used Also got what's widely regarded as the best pad to use on a 200sx...the ferodo DS2500. ![]() Team this up with my caliper overhaul, my new lines a full system of fresh fluid and it should stop as well as it goes ![]() Jordan Wrote:Aidan, dont you think you have got enough wheels Aidan Wrote:Don't you think you've got enough shoes WWW.GARAGEAWESOME.COM |
