Damn!! I suppose Clare was lucky because it could have been alot worst! I nearly had a similar experience the other week going to alton towers, was doing 70(ish) in the outside lane, two lorries on the inside, second one tried to overtake and was completely oblivious to the fact i was there! I'd have loved to see you chasing him in a cossie too, bet he sh*t himself! haha!

Chris, a mate was hanging out pasenger window waving at him to pull over. Took ages for him to stop. He wouldnt open his door when we did finally stop him. lol.

He ended up getting done for careless driving and leaving the scene. There was loads of witnesses.

That's it. I've started the winter jobs.

The interior has been sold, so need to sort some new seats before next year. Not sure what yet but it will be black and leather. will be some changes to the stereo maybe, but only if I get time.

The outside is looking tired and needs freshening up. Fibreglass and hard suspension do not make a good combination and its 2 years since it last paint.

Started stripping the back end to repair and flatten and realised how big those wheel would look if we didnt have such a deep bumper. They've got some right camber too. lol

There's been a big gap but doesn't mean we've been lazy. Bigcab is not ready to retire just yet.

So, what have we been up to since Nov 2011?

Well let me tell you. Are you sitting comfortably?

I'll start with the latest vital statistics for Bigcab.

Car:
1985 Ford Escort Rieger F40 Cabriolet

Engine:
Series 2 RS Turbo conversion, lightened and balanced, KnN induction kit, KMS200 Motorsport Chip, -31 RS Cosworth actuator set to steady 1 bar, twin piston dump valve, silicone boost hoses, 8mm Motorsport HT leads, polished alloy header tank, polished alloy oil breather, polished alloy swirl pot, polished alloy strut brace with built in brake stop to servo, polished group A coil, piper cams vernier pully, Ecotek CB -26P, polished metering unit, polished inlet, polished cross over pipe, polished alloy turbo heat shield, stainless exhaust. All above producing a modest and strong 200bhp.

Chassis:
19" Image DM 3 piece split rim alloys. 12j rears and 9j fronts. Huge 330mm hi-spec bells and rotas up front and matching hi-spec bells and rotas at rear for ultimate stopping power. Tires are Michelin 305/35 19 and 235/30 19 to keep everything in check.

Exterior:
Full Rieger F40 wide arch kit painted Ford Ultimate Green, Black Hella twin headlight and grill set with smoked headlights, Black BMW M3 (E30) spoiler, black M3 mirrors, shortened boot lid, Mocal locking alloy fuel filler cap located in rear panel, single wiper conversion, 4 tail pipes through rear panel, relocated number plate, fibreglass bonnet, black mohair roof.

Interior:
Black Sparco R333 seats and matching door cards, harnesses, Black leather steering wheel, alloy hand brake, carbon gear nob, flocked dash

Ice:
Eonon 7" TV/DVD with automatic reversing camera. 12" Pioneer subs. Lanzar amp, 2 way and 3 way speakers in rear.

After the white we went for the Ultimate Green of the Focus RS. This colour was a stroke of genious, all the old colours seem to make it a car that people either loved or hated, nothing in between. The new colour has changed the minds of many sceptics and now seems that people are loving the cab.

First photos back on the road were done by Ollie. He told me NOT to publish any photos I took with my Blackberry so we asked him to bring his fancy camera and this is some of what we got.

Front shot again took by Fast Car at Mod Nats 2012. The grill was repainted black as we were not feeling the green.


Then we got the email everyone wants, Perfomance Ford wanted to feature the cab, the new colour is definately working. To top it off we made it on to the cover. This was late 2012.

There's way too many photos to add to this thread on one go so I'll add a few more when I get 5 mins.

Bigcab is getting on 28 years old now and the end is nowhere in sight, if anything the train has picked up speed and we cant stop it. Bigcab will live on for ever. We are already in talks about what colour the car will be next year and we aint even finished this year yet.

Bigcab has been hitting the scene for the last 12 years, breaking all the rules and showing that big wheels and a shit load of fibreglass CAN still do it like a boss.

As I'm out early in the morning for a trip to TAS I thought I'd check if I could wake Bigcab up after his four week rest.

The time is 00:10 and Bigcab started like a good un. Just to make sure all the neighbours knew too we had a quick blip of the throttle. Sorry! Hehe.
