Seen it, looks like its flared out a bit to match the curve of the bumper..... may be wrong though.

Not flared out, but extra metal welded in and shaped to remove the bumper 'notch' so it's a continuous line across the bumper & tailgate.
One of my favorite mods on a mk4. Such attention to detail. Lovely. |
