RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab
Went to Darryl's unit yesterday afternoon and all the bits, bonnet, bumpers, headlights etc have all now had a coat of primer. They're lookin sweeeeeet. I'm looking forward to seeing it done myself now.
I just need to keep nipping in the garage for an hour here and there to do the rest of the bodywork. I did an hour last night and filled the original hole for the fuel filler so there's no going back now with that. lol. |

RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab
The original plan was the filler cap in boot so we needed to open boot everytime we filled up, but I've looked at every possible possition and I don't recon its going to lool right so we're putting a fancy alloy locking cap in the rear panel between the exhausts and the rear lights. I think its a good compromise.
Locking Mocal cap like this with their filler neck will be about £100. I recon we'll save that amount in the first month with how much use to spill out the side of the original Ford one. lol.

Found this Al
http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/P...de=MOCCAP5 Not sure if its any good, but seen as you filler will be hidden in the boot, its a hell of a lot cheaper than a locking one, plus it still looks cool in the boot Just thought id see if you had seen it, might well save you £80 or at least be an option to try. ![]() Jordan Wrote:Aidan, dont you think you have got enough wheels Aidan Wrote:Don't you think you've got enough shoes WWW.GARAGEAWESOME.COM |

RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab
I first looked at that one but Clare wants ity locking even if we had it in the boot. The boots open 90% of the time and she was worried about shit being put down or someone even knicking the cap.
Demon tweeks are expensiv e too, I've seen the same locking cap and piping in the RALLY DESIGN catalogue. That'll be where we be getting it from. Got cab running better tonight be frustraightingly the tappets won't quiet down. So I'm guna whip the rocker cover off and see if I can see anything, maybe its just cos they've been stood for so long. A soak in some oil overnight should help too. I'm sure they'd quieten on there own but it sounds horid until it happens. Wacked some filler in the original filler neck and a bit under the rear light. I'm on it now, I love it. |

I dont know what everyone concerns are, I recon the filler neck in the boot next to the exhaust is as safe as houses. lol.

RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab
Not long. I had a monster night last night, got loads done.
I even have pictures. lol The black hole as it was ![]() I cut down and used the flap as a base, sitting about 10 to 12 mm lower than the bodywork. ![]() Then filled the gap using fibreglass for strength ![]() Onec dry I ground away any bits that were too high then covered the lot with filler. ![]() Sanded back using a block to get the level, filled any low bits and sanded again ![]() Then covered with a bit of primer. Although it was shite primer, ret thin and ran like bitch.
