RE: Pyro's Impreza
Jesus H Christ I hate tyres.
Wheels are ordered and on their way, just need tyres now. The wheels are 8.5" front and 9.5" rear, so due to (awesome) Subaru AWD system, I have to match the rolling circumference of the front and rear (or get it as near as possible). I've worked out quite a few matches, but with them all 1 size will be cheap as chips and the other about 10 times the price! Aaarrrrgh! Yes, I could have the same tyre front and rear, but I'd ideally like to have the same stretch front and rear (I know I'm being picky, but I want it to look right). Also, I'm getting adapters made up, I've asked both the adapter people and the wheel people if I should get the adapters made to the wheel bore, or get them made to standard Subaru bore (my thinking here is I can sell them later) and use the spiggot rings that come with the wheels. So far one says one thing and the other the other, so what do you guys think? Ok, think the best match/price is 215/40 front and 225/40 rear. Dropping to 205/215 for more stretch is a no as 205s in an 18 are expensive. Going to 235 rears for a perfect stretch match is a no as it means going to 215/45s on the front to match the circumference, and they're expensive too. ![]() |
