Track Day fuel level
This is a odd one...
I'm on my first full day open pit track day on Sunday, and I have no idea how much fuel to; A) have in the car to start with And 2) how much extra I should take with me if any! There is no fuel pump at Blyton so no idea where the nearest one is! Will a full tank do it? ![]() Jordan Wrote:Aidan, dont you think you have got enough wheels Aidan Wrote:Don't you think you've got enough shoes WWW.GARAGEAWESOME.COM |

RE: Track Day fuel level
starting on full tank will be safest ! Might be slower on track in the morning and then i would take some with you as a back up ! Nothing worse than been miles a way from a station and having the light cone on !

there is a tesco superstore in Gainsborough, so not far away just to pop out for some if you need it

RE: Track Day fuel level
I'd make sure you go on with just over half a tank, then keep adding to it during the day, take a 20ltr jerry can and some smaller ones. Then on the dinner break set the sat nav to the nearest petrol station, probably within 5 or 10 miles for Shell or Momentum.
You had new brakes fitted before the trackday too? ![]() |

RE: Track Day fuel level
No, my pads haven't arrived, EBC have not got any and it's a 2 week lead time!
D was laughing as I'm on standard suspension, standard brakes and 3 different types of budget tyre all with questionable tread haha I think fuel is now the least of my worries! ![]() Jordan Wrote:Aidan, dont you think you have got enough wheels Aidan Wrote:Don't you think you've got enough shoes WWW.GARAGEAWESOME.COM |

Haha you'll be fine!
And how many people do track day when the car is standard? Then modify it! |

RE: Track Day fuel level
I drive to the track, fill up outside, empty a tank on track then have to fill up close by for the journey home.
Expensive but FUN. --- Oo skyline oO |

RE: Track Day fuel level
What fuel are you running the car on? If its just standard 95 there are some petrol stations not too far away in gainsborough. No high octane ones though.
I'd say you will nail a full tank easily in a day. |

RE: Track Day fuel level
I filled up at shell in ollerton, had a spirited drive there, did just over half a tank on track and drove back.
The closest garage is 10 minutes away easily so I wouldn't worry about running out. ![]() |

RE: Track Day fuel level
I can now answer this!
I needed just over half a tank including travelling. Car averaged 12.5mpg out on the track ![]() Jordan Wrote:Aidan, dont you think you have got enough wheels Aidan Wrote:Don't you think you've got enough shoes WWW.GARAGEAWESOME.COM |
