Big developement today. The chromes are gone.

We delivered them today (thanks Ollie) and all in one day we ordered the fronts from Image.

A more normal 19 x 9 for the front. Should be minimum 3 inch lip so not to shabby.

Just got 5 weeks to twiddle our thumbs now.

Right the wheels are here and finally on the car although we have have had a bit of a set back. Image called just before we fetched them to say they've been scuffed and it will be another 5/6 week for replacements. They did offer a choice. Take the wheels as they are and bring them back in 5/6 week for a swap or £50 off. We chose originally to have the money off but when we saw them they were not good enough so we chose the £50 off and the replacement lips when they're ready. So all good I suppose.

We fetched them yesterday morning and got the tyres on a Glenns in the afternoon.

They are awesome. You cannot gauge how big these are when there's no reference, but trust me they are huge in a epic way.













I've now got just over 2 weeks to swap the dash and sort a few things out before the next show. Just over a week if we wanna go to RS day at the pod. But we'll see how I go. lol.

Spent the weekend doing the checks on the rear hubs and wheel barings etc. Making sure all bolts are in and tight, replacing nuts and a couple new split pins.

Painted the calipers gold to match the bells front and back.

The last thing that still needs doing is to change the dash and we're good to go.

Then we just need a shake down run at some point this week to make sure nothing has changes from last year. Mainly for the rear end. Its all been replaced for the new hubs for the new wheels so need to make sure its all good and nothing's going to fall off. lol.

Think we need a new battery too but thats no biggy.

Took it for a spin round block last night and it was ace. It might not be the fastest but my god that RS turbo engine sounds awsome. I followed Clare in the Merc just in case, and those tyres dont even look real from the back, they are soooooooo big. The wheels look amazing moving slowly and they arnt even clean yet. The reflection of the spokes in the dish is wicked.

All in all it was a good run but a few little things highlighed and need sorting, main ones are....

The front wheel just catches the front edge of the side skirt on the drivers side. Clare did insist on that half in bigger wheel. Might just leave it, I dont thing its hurting anything. lol

Rear brakes are squeeking so just need to give them a check and maybe apply copper slip or something on back of pad.

Engine fan needs sorting, temp sensor dont work so its always been on a switch that looks like has been broke with dash swap. Doh!

Then just need to give it a clean and get used to driving it again, avoiding kerbs, speed humps, pot holes, narrow roads etc.
