Been doing the engine bay for the last couple of weeks and I recon its looking better.

This is what we started with, not too bad but no different to any other RS Turbo


This is what I did. Moved as much of the wiring loom off the iner wings as I could including the coil. Painted the dirty looking head tank, fuse cover etc and the really rusty servo black. Removerd the heater housing, painted rocker cover and strut brace silver. And a tonne load of cleaning.


Clare was sure if the black and silver looked right so back to the garage and painted everything back to Orange. lol. Looks loads fresher and cleaner.


To be fair it needs a load more work to be 100% but its LOADS better than it was.

The last photo doesnt do it any favours to be fair, it was a bit dark and I was a bit close. It does look okay and its been orange for 7 years now so not really THAT random. lol. I tried something new but Clare though the Silver and Black was a bit boring and its her car after all. Id have to paint it pink with blue spot if she want it to be. Not that she would.

Could do with another night in there really to finish it off. Might do it Thursday night/Fri morning. Bit more cleaning is needed behind wiper motor, bit of paint on the wings and front panel. Also could do with another coat on the underside of the bonnet really.

Well im shocked rightly or wrongly :surprised:sorta still being new here assumed clares cab would be chrome city under the bonnet(based on the exterior)
