RE: *Member* Shane's Impreza Turbo 2000AWD - olstar - 13-02-2009 08:48 PM hope it doesnt cost the earth to sort bro! RE: *Member* Shane's Impreza Turbo 2000AWD - Saint AAI - 16-02-2009 09:47 AM More than likely is the diff, CV boots are intact, but something is definatly moving at the back end when driving with the handbrake on. I'm pretty sure the prop is spinning, but the halfshafts are not. Find out tomorrow. RE: *Member* Shane's Impreza Turbo 2000AWD - Saint AAI - 17-02-2009 05:20 PM Took it in at 9 this morning, it was the diff. They've swapped it and I gotta pick it up after work. 1 hour to go, can't wait. Edit: Picked it up from the garage and it only cost £70. They pointed out an oil leak on the engine as well and a few other bits. The diff looks like it died after having an oil leak that wasnt noticed as when they went to drain it before taking it off there wasn't any in. I'll have to remember to start checking diff and gearbox oil with engine oil changes. RE: *Member* Shane's Impreza Turbo 2000AWD - Saint AAI - 20-02-2009 06:07 PM Another update, just bought a second hand Zero/Sports kit which consists of front/back bumpers, side skirts and spoiler. Front bumper isnt Zero/sports though looking at it, its another C-West one. So I have a choice of Zero/Sports spoiler or my do-luck one and I've got 2 Zero/sports back bumpers and 2 C-west front bumpers. Bonus with the new one is that its already the same colour as my car and the bumper has already been cut for a front mount. Plus the Zero/sports bumper I already have is cracked and I know is a copy. Not sure if this kit is genuine or not but its a reasonable price if not and a bargain if it is. I'm hiting this car hard over the next months as I really want it looking good for summer. Edit: Still waiting for the new bits to arrive and the seller is not replying to my e-mails so may have to open a dispute. eBay pisses me off sometimes and PayPal are a joke, better get my money back if the bits don't come. Had a dispute before and even though I paid with Paypal they didn't give me all my money back and I lost around £300. RE: *Member* Shane's Impreza Turbo 2000AWD - Saint AAI - 12-03-2009 04:36 PM The seller finally answered my e-mails and replied with "what items are you talking about?" So I had to phone them and they said I had made an offer on the items and it was refused, I told them this was not the case and I had bought the items with the buy it now and paid the full amount through PayPal. They said ring them back later so they could check their records. Called them back and they then tried telling me their PayPal account was corrupt and they basically don't accept PayPal so I would have to pay with my credit card. Told him again I had already paid through PayPal and he told me I would have to get my money back off them as they didn't have it. Then I would have to pay again using my card to get the bits. So I've opened a dispute to claim back my cash. Fucking pissed off!!! My PayPal account says the transaction is completed so I know they have the money. RE: *Member* Shane's Impreza Turbo 2000AWD - Ant - 12-03-2009 09:06 PM did you pay using credit card? if ya did ring them up and they'll give you the money straight back then they'll sort paypal out. always pay for things on credit card then your covered over £50 RE: *Member* Shane's Impreza Turbo 2000AWD - Saint AAI - 13-03-2009 09:02 AM Yeah I did, will be ringing them soon I think just to make sure I get my cash back. It was a bit of an impulse buy anyway and I don't really need any of it as already have a full kit so will be glad to have the cash back. Another edit: Also still waiting for a set of UK rear lights to arrive then I can get it MOT'd. Soon as thats done I can take it to Area 52 to get the oil leak sorted and for a new clutch, then It'll be finally off to the bodyshop. Next thing to save for is new bigger brakes as mine are shite. RE: *Member* Shane's Impreza Turbo 2000AWD - Saint AAI - 24-03-2009 05:51 PM Car has MOT now and I have had my cash back for the other kit I bought, but thats gone straight away on a new clutch. Ordered a single plate Exedy organic one this time as my twin plate carbon one didn't last long for some reason and I'm not paying that much for a clutch again unless my torque figures say I have to. Got a new lightweight flywheel to go with it as I'm not sure if I can use the one thats on there as it has dowells all the way round that the clutch cover bolts to, to space it away for the multi plates. The dowells might just unscrew, but I don't want to wait for the garage to get the old clutch out to find they can't fit the new one. Also ordered some ARP flywheel bolts and new spigot and release bearings. Got a cam cover gasket kit on the way to fix my oil leak and because I'm so pissed off about spending loads on maintenance and not on any actual mods I've got a silicon turbo hose to go on. RE: *Member* Shane's Impreza Turbo 2000AWD - Saint AAI - 30-03-2009 09:18 AM New bits have arrived and my new flywheel looks totally different than my old one?? New one has slots and holes in it and looks like a lightened flywheel, my old one just looked normal. They both weigh the same and are both supposed to be Exedy items. So I'm wondering if my old clutch was a cheap fake from China or somewhere and thats why its gone so soon? Or could just be that the flywheel designs are different as one is for a normal clutch and the other is for a multiplate, which, looking at it is more probable. New flywheel: ![]() ![]() ![]() Old flywheel: ![]() And heres a picture of my helmet (ooer) for use if I ever manage to get the car on a track seeeing as though I haven't added many pictures lately: ![]() Images look a little dodgy, due to camera phone and I've attempted to resize them, but got height and width ratios wrong. RE: *Member* Shane's Impreza Turbo 2000AWD - OllieWestwood - 30-03-2009 02:46 PM nice helmet....... Bet that cost a wodge! |
