Hell Yes!

Jesus H Christ I hate tyres.

Wheels are ordered and on their way, just need tyres now. The wheels are 8.5" front and 9.5" rear, so due to (awesome) Subaru AWD system, I have to match the rolling circumference of the front and rear (or get it as near as possible). I've worked out quite a few matches, but with them all 1 size will be cheap as chips and the other about 10 times the price! Aaarrrrgh!

Yes, I could have the same tyre front and rear, but I'd ideally like to have the same stretch front and rear (I know I'm being picky, but I want it to look right).

Also, I'm getting adapters made up, I've asked both the adapter people and the wheel people if I should get the adapters made to the wheel bore, or get them made to standard Subaru bore (my thinking here is I can sell them later) and use the spiggot rings that come with the wheels. So far one says one thing and the other the other, so what do you guys think?
Ok, think the best match/price is 215/40 front and 225/40 rear. Dropping to 205/215 for more stretch is a no as 205s in an 18 are expensive. Going to 235 rears for a perfect stretch match is a no as it means going to 215/45s on the front to match the circumference, and they're expensive too.

Sadly, mine aren't the monster ones at the back I'm afraid, going by the bore I think mine are the ones at the front.

Not long now then Icon_biggrin

Oh, pictures of the wheels too if you haven't seen them on FB:

Ugh, epic fail.

Wheel adapters arrived today, and about 5 mins after I got home from work the car was jacked up and a wheel was off, hadn't even put the kettle on at this point!. Only to find he's made the centre bore on the wheel side too big >:[

When I first inquired I said 72.6, when I placed the order I said 72.6, when he emailed to confirm what it was I wanted I said 72.6, when I emailed him a picture of the label on the wheel box and Photoshopped a bright blue box round the 'Bore: 72.6' section it said 72.6. Yet it seems he's made them at 76.2.

So as you can guess, 'impressed' levels are quite low.

Methinks these wheels ain't getting fitted for Fast Show :[

Went to J29 last Saturday with the intention of fitting the springs off a turbo I've had sat around for months and rolling my arches.

With the help of Matt we changed one spring, measured the drop, and it'd made bugger all difference, so we forgot about doing the rest. Coilovers ahoy!

Rob then turned up with my new favourite toy; his arch roller Icon_biggrin

Managed to get one lip rolled:

Then got a little carried away and gave it some flare... (for reference, that outer edge should go straight down ;])

Figured I didn't need to be sat paying for a lift to do this so I buggered off and did the rest over the last week after work.

Got all the wheels fitted tonight (after a little 'adjustment' to my adapters (cue piece of metal in my eye that is slowly scratching away every time I blink :/)).

Apart from seriously needing to be lowered, and the arches looking a little unprofessional (they look awesome, but you can tell it was me that did them) it looks brilliant!

A little sneaky peak:
