RE: *Member* Olstars 1989 Volkswagen Caddy - Newth - 08-02-2009 02:57 PM reminder....... go buy, number plate number plate lights side repeaters including bulb holders RE: *Member* Olstars 1989 Volkswagen Caddy - Newth - 18-03-2009 02:44 AM REAR NUMBER PLATE RE: *Member* Olstars 1989 Volkswagen Caddy - olstar - 18-03-2009 04:58 PM not forgotten, just trying to weigh up the best way of going about it as explained to you last night dude.. DO I Risk it, buy a 52cm wide standard legal plate and try and cut it down to 42cm wide that is required by my plate recess Or do i have a 42cm plate made up (scaled down from 52cm) zand risk going for MOT with a plate smaller than it legally should be? Arg?! The worse bit is that this number plate will be used for a few months, then scrapped when i FINALLY put my private plate on the caddy! Waiting on a call back from my mate who makes plates up to see what he thinks! RE: *Member* Olstars 1989 Volkswagen Caddy - OllieWestwood - 19-03-2009 03:29 PM stick a big one on for MOT...job done! RE: *Member* Olstars 1989 Volkswagen Caddy - olstar - 23-03-2009 06:27 PM ![]() ![]() ![]() Dont worry, me and stu are gonna take care of that gap between the floor and the underside of my car soon This is my interior ATM As you can see, number plate and shit is on! TBH its a matter of fitting 1 switch, then taking it for an MOT! Oh, and get it insured.. While im here, NEWTH and peeps - check this shit out.. This is the underside of a blue caddy at the fast show... Ive seen the caddy for years, and now some girl owns it.. It was on its side, so i took the chance of taking some underneath shots so i could see how her airbags worked... WTF! ![]() ![]() As you can see the guy who did it has cut the leaf spring in half, and attached an air ram to the cut off end, then attached that to the bed.. Whereas mine still has the whole leaf, and the airbag just pushes the car up! Wierd! RE: *Member* Olstars 1989 Volkswagen Caddy - Alanman - 23-03-2009 07:20 PM All they've done is turn the leaf spring into a stabliser bar. Is just stopping the wheel moving back and forward. I dont see a problem with that setup, that cut down leaf spring is a way thicker than whats on most cars. You'll be fine with the same I recon. This is newth's Escort (on person I know whos got this right photo) The stabliser bar goes from the rear hub to under the back seat and is only 15mm thick.
RE: *Member* Olstars 1989 Volkswagen Caddy - Newth - 23-03-2009 09:06 PM hmm, not seen that sort of setup before on bags either. vans etc are normally done the same way as yours, or so i believe. shame you can't get a better idea what's going on from that photo. either way, we're nearly ready to get a fail sheet on yours. RE: *Member* Olstars 1989 Volkswagen Caddy - olstar - 23-03-2009 10:06 PM ahh i see.. still, it looked a right bodge underneath.. more so than mine gotta ring adrian flux up tomorrow to get proof of no claims, then ring alanman and chris knott etc to see if i can get some cheap insurance RE: *Member* Olstars 1989 Volkswagen Caddy - OllieWestwood - 23-03-2009 10:37 PM sky insurance - sign up to driftworks forums, trust me try it! 08701 121 759 RE: *Member* Olstars 1989 Volkswagen Caddy - olstar - 23-03-2009 10:46 PM yeah? ill try that! gonna see if the caddy forum has any schemes too! |
