RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab - OllieWestwood - 08-03-2009 09:12 PM that looks unbelievably better, will make such a massive differance should we get the weather to have the top off! One thing al id be tempted to do the stereo surround thats currently silver in sierra "old mans pants" beige Top top work! RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab - Alanman - 08-03-2009 09:22 PM The stereo suround will be painted black. Same as the guage at the bottom. Too much would prob ruin it, I recon RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab - green206 - 12-03-2009 12:33 PM needs a new steering wheel or trim that one in cream and the bottom of the door cards need trimmin in blue or black. looks gd tho RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab - Alanman - 16-03-2009 02:12 PM It's done. BigCab needed the front end sorting due to stone chips. We've vinyl wrapped the whole front of the BigCab in a blue tinted carbon fibre look. We wern't convinced to start with that it looked right but it growning on us. We wished we'd have gone darker but we went safe and had the blue. I've since added the silver highlights to the, because before it wasnt quite doing it for us. The fitting of the wrap cannot be faulted, Ted at The-Image-Works in Ilkeston has done a banging job and I would recomend him to anyone. We're looking forward to Fast Show now. Although Clare still has some reservations, I'm very happy with it. Close up of the bonnet ![]() The wing ![]() And the doors where the carbon goes back to the candy blue paint.
RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab - OllieWestwood - 16-03-2009 03:33 PM i quite like that certainly different! What made you do blue carbon al and not something totally different like metal effect or black C/F? Is it a expensive job to have done...can he do anything? how do you clean it i assume normal polish wont really work on vinyl? RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab - Alanman - 16-03-2009 03:47 PM We originally wanted metal effect but he said he could make printed vinyl look like metal. It would have just looked dirty silver. We went for the blue to be safe really so it wasnt too drastic, but we think it too close to the original now and wish we'd had propper black carbon. We even thought about urban camo. He says we should just be able to polish it the same as paint, but we'll see. It not got the mirror finish like paint but its not bad. Cost wise it was a shit load less than it would have been to paint it again in candy. lol. I fancy the whole car done next time, but need more thinking time and go wild. Clare's not really happy but she's coming round. Problem is, when the car came out the body shop when we painted it candy, we knew straight away that it was the right thing. We just havent had that same WOW factor this time. Its a grower though. lol. We can try it for a bit then just take it off and do it different. RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab - Pyrotechnic - 16-03-2009 08:07 PM I do like the carbon effect, but I have to say I'm not a big fan of the 'join' at all really :[ RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab - Ant - 16-03-2009 08:44 PM like i said on saturday at mine it looks shit !! RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab - olstar - 16-03-2009 08:55 PM Al, after seeing it the other night, then seeing it again with the silver bits on the join - i now like it! Winnerrrrr! RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab - Newth - 16-03-2009 09:14 PM definately better for the silver line on the join. |
