RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab - Alanman - 04-03-2009 04:24 PM She tells everyone that she's fed up of it and she wants to sell but she'd regret it if she did. She is acctually excited about BigCab for 2009 so we'll see. RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab - Newth - 04-03-2009 07:38 PM i think once it's been re-alaned, it'd be good again. RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab - Alanman - 05-03-2009 06:01 PM Actually, the biggest job this year is being done by a guy called Ted. lol. I've just got the job of getting it ready. Plans for tonight: Screen out tonight ready for the new one. The screen's never been out when it's been painted so there's prob about an inch step from the original paint to the layers and layers of new paint. lol. Then while the window is out, the dash can be painted Ford Sierra Beige to add a bit of class and match the new seats. I'm going to try my best to do the dash in situ because I dont fancy disturbing the wiring behind it. It'd prop be okay but I cannot take the risk of damaging anything and the fucker not starting again after. It is BigCab after all. We NEED it running next Thursday or all the plans are fucked. I will not be returning back into the house until the dash is cream (sorry, beige lol) Two cans of red bull should be enough tonight. Alanman RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab - Newth - 05-03-2009 07:24 PM you so need to take a picture of the metal that should be there to hold the rubber for the screen! RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab - Alanman - 06-03-2009 12:14 PM Newth always the synic. Expecting a Ford to be rusty. lol. Well, its pritty good, very good actually. There one bit of surface rust on one corner. I was expecting more too. lol. It was like unveiling a lost tomb, I didn't know what to esxpect. Its not see the light of day for 24 years under that rubber. lol. Dash is 95% done, I ran out of beige. lol. Need to get some more today. Its looking good so far, should be done tonight. Alanman RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab - Newth - 07-03-2009 11:30 AM i can't believe that. i know someone that scrapped an XR3i once cos he took the screen out. there was literally nothing left to put the rubber back onto! lol. is it gonna make the thursday deadline then? RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab - Alanman - 07-03-2009 01:05 PM I'll take a photo later this afternoon, honestly, its not bad at all for 25 years old. We should be fine for Thursday but I've got a looong afternoon on it. Unfortunately I chose the pub over the garage last night. lol. So this afternoon I've got to finish painting the dash, then give it chance to dry a little before I put all the vents, clock surround, switches n shit back in. The outside I just need to remove the stickers on the bodywork and check it over to make sure I've not missed anything obvious. Then simply fit new windsrcreen, probably tomorrow just to give dash an extra day to dry. Easy Peasy! Alanman RE: *Member* Clare's BigCab - Alanman - 08-03-2009 08:42 PM Dash painted and it's looking good. There's a little bit reacted at the side but an easy fix. Window is also in. Photo of window bottom for Newth. See, its only got just a little bit in the corner. ![]() Masked up being painted. ![]() All finished. It looks cool I recon to say its Ford Sierra biege.
